Assignment: Design an inner garden that enhances the quality of the workplace
Deen, a major supermarket chain, wanted a stylish inner garden as a tranquil centrepiece for its head office, to raise the quality of the workplace to a higher level, both indoors and outdoors. Our garden designer felt that the roof garden layout needed to focus on simplicity above all else. A distinctive Persian Ironwood automatically attracts your eye as a serene central point of the garden. This particular tree was chosen because of its resemblance to the Caribbean Divi Divi tree. The leaves of the Ironwood turn a beautiful colour in the autumn and, when the leaves have fallen, its distinctive shape perfectly complements the building.
A sleek, simple but strongly accentuated structure of evergreen triangles around the tree create a restrained, Zen-like atmosphere in the inner garden. This green heart is a centrepiece of tranquillity all year round.
