Assignment: garden design matching the 17th century architecture and the needs of a modern B&B guest
A uniquely situated old warehouse that takes you three centuries back in time has been converted into a modern B&B: Bed & Breakfast ’t Pakhuis. The owners wanted a garden that matched the atmosphere of the building and all the requirements of their modern guests.
As you stand at the front door of the property, you look through the house to the garden path which runs the length of a long and narrow garden landscape down to the water’s edge. A wooden deck has been built at the back as a quiet spot to read a book and enjoy the natural surroundings. There is also a jetty for small boats and canoes. Secluded bench seats have been built, next to patios where you can sit and chat and eating areas for an enjoyable breakfast in the morning sun. A suitable run has been created for the chickens and separate areas for growing fruit and herbs.
